Sedro-Woolley photo history book

The Sedro-Woolley Historical Museum has produced a marvelous 128-page book featuring photos of the city's history over a century, in association with Arcadia Publishing. The book is part of the Images of America series. Larry James, sales representative with the San Francisco-based publisher, says that the company now has more than 2,000 books in the collection from all 50 states.
The book was coordinated by museum volunteers and headed up by the late Kerry Freeman, museum president, and Carolyn Freeman, the secretary. With the aid of local history researcher Roger Peterson, they selected photos from the museum's extensive collection and from local families.
"It's mainly a photo history with captions," Peterson explained, "the pictures tell the story." The committee received valuable technical assistance from Rusty Robertson, who has volunteered continually since his high school days in the 1990s. Other members of the committee included Dean and Rosalie Schanzenbach.
Local families who aided the project include: Mildred and William Holtcamp; the Dreyer family, the Van Fleet family, Joan (Jenkens) Crawford, and Lemley Chapel and George McRae and the Skagit Valley Grange.
Books can be purchased for $19.99 at several Sedro-Woolley businesses and the museum gift shop at 725 Murdock street, the former home of Emil Jech's Universal Motor Ford garage.
